Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to facilitate change. Hypnosis is a natural state of total relaxation and a natural method of lulling the conscious mind in order to reach the subconscious. Whilst in this relaxed state of hypnosis, the subconscious part of the mind is more receptive to suggestions and change.
When the conscious mind is relaxed it allows the subconscious is to be spoken to directly, so that old patterns and conditioning can be reprogrammed, thereby allowing new ideas and positive suggestions to be introduced. These positive suggestions can then be used to help make the changes you need in your life.
Hypnosis is very safe when used by a qualified hypnotherapist as you remain in control at all times. You can not be coerced to do anything against your will and you can never act upon any suggestions that you do not agree with. In fact, you can choose to enter or leave the hypnotic state at anytime.
As a hypnotherapist, I will induce a state of relaxation using various techniques such as deep breathing, muscle relaxation or visualisation. Your conscious mind will be guided to a state of deep relaxation, similar to daydreaming. From there I can use numerous methods to teach your subconscious new patterns and ideas. At times you may listen and participate silently as I guide you; other times you may participate more and answer questions to give feedback. When the proper suggestions and imagery have been completed you will be gently brought back. People feel rested, relaxed and refreshed after a hypnosis session.
